Lori DiPrete Brown

Lori DiPrete Brown is a visionary leader in global health, human rights, and gender equity. As a Distinguished Teaching Faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she spearheads initiatives that bridge academia and real-world impact, including directing the *4W Women and Well-being Initiative* and co-founding UW-Madison’s groundbreaking global health education programs. A sought-after expert in healthcare quality improvement, Lori has trained professionals across 17 countries and authored the influential textbook Foundations for Global Health Practice. Her career spans international organizations, Peace Corps service in Honduras—which inspired her novel Caminata: A Journey—and advisory roles shaping equitable health policies. With degrees from Yale and Harvard, Lori brings to UVL’s Board a unique blend of scholarly rigor, on-the-ground experience, and a steadfast commitment to social justice.
